this month:
we're making some changes to our MESJ website and by March 2006 will report each month on Equality, Social Justice, Peace, and Environmental issues.
Equality
Mosiah 27:3 “there should be an equality among all”.
There is little evidence that this scripture from the Book of Mormon is taken too seriously by anyone anymore...
Social Justice
Moses 7:18 "And the lord called his people Zion....and there was no poor among them."
This begs the question: are we still the lord's people?
Peace
D&C 98:16 We are challenged to “renounce war and proclaim peace”. Spencer W. Kimball gave us a reality check by observing that:: " We are a warlike people".
Environment
D&C 59:20 The earth and its resources should be used “with judgment, not to excess” Was it our lack of judgement that caused us to do just the opposite?

MESJ is a grassroots organization of Latter-day Saint individuals who are “anxiously engaged” in working for peace, equality, justice, and wise stewardship of the earth. MESJ does not adopt positions on social or political issues which contradict official positions of the LDS Church.
