Explain:
Africa is home to 30 of the world's 48 least developed countries. Promoting development in Africa therefore looms large on the agenda of those trying to fight global poverty. Industry and manufacturing are considered crucial to a country's economic growth. Africa, however, exports primarily raw materials, not manufactured goods. Greater industrial development in Africa will require a more skilled workforce, greater access to capital and technology, and political stability. Africa Industrialization Day aims to create public awareness of African industries and to rally international support for Africa's continuing industrial development.

Pray:

• Give thanks for the ways industry and technology have improved your family's standard of living.
• Pray for the poor, especially the poor in Africa.
• Pray for the success of efforts to promote development in Africa.
