IDENTITY / PRINT / WEB
G. Coles-Christensen, located in the art-filled community of Santa Fé, is one of the nation's premier rug importers and dealers. Contact Design created an identity centered around the iconic Arabian horse Bucephalus, who carried Alexander the Great into battle. The identity lends the store a sense of adventure and heritage that is seen in the company's handmade carpets. Over the years, Contact has created advertisements, a website with an e-commerce solution, signage, brochures and other collateral for the fine Rug Merchants. As part of a brand refresh for 2010, the Contact team gave the logo some additional dimension and vitality with a commissioned illustration by Kevin Sprouls, the creator of the Wall Street Journal stipple portraits. This gave the formerly flat Arabian horse a look that perfectly complements the high-end store.
